Sagera Estates Limited

Sisal is a plant originally from Yucatan, Mexico. The salient feature of this crop is that unlike any other agriculture crop it is highly drought resistance and can survive under extreme conditions. The planting and harvesting can be done throughout the year. From the time SEL took over the Estate and Assets in 2007, a new life has been injected to transform the sisal business value chain into sustainable growth. The current annual production is 1400 tons. The SEL has replanted extensively since 2007 and expected to substantially increase the output in the coming years. The principle business of the company is into sisal cultivation and production of natural fibre.

SEL proudly owns Lugongo estate in the promising Tanga region spread over 3669 Hectares. Almost 1000 Ha area is available for proposed expansion and replanting. The projects envisage at putting the available area under sisal cultivation and also initiate to replant the older areas. The finished fibre has wide variety of applications such as twine & ropes, pulp & paper, textiles, pharmaceuticals, building materials, bio-gas and also used as plastic and rubber composites.

East Usambara Tea Company Ltd.

EUTCO IS THE BIGGEST BUSINESS ON EAST USAMBARA HILLS, TANZANIA

The EUTCO tea Estates are situated in Northern Tanzania, on the East Usambara Mountains, at an altitude of 900-1200 meters  (3000 feet) above mean sea level. The estates are surrounded by indigenous rain forests which are considered unique in  terms of bio-diversity and are part of the Amani Nature Reserve which is a bio-diversity hot spot having a lot of endemic species of flora and fauna.

Eutco is currently the third largest in production of high quality CTC tea in Tanzania. It has 2000 Ha of planted tea and titled area of over 14,000 Ha with a production of over 3.5 million kg annually. We are focused on producing CTC black tea in the most cost effective, sustainable manner consistent with responsible employment and environmental practices.

Eutco is the largest tea plantation in the East Usambara Hills. The estate measures 49 Kms end-to-end with 250 kms of internal roads that are maintained by the company. We are also first tea producer to be granted with the Tea Blending and Packaging License in the country.

under Minjingu Mines and Fertilizer Kenya Limited.

MMFL mines the Phosphate Rock and carries further processes to transform the rock into Biogenic Origin and Blended Fertilizers.
